At the end of our third year in the Compiègne University of technology we are demand to make a long internship as an engineer assistant.
This experience helps us to decide the direction we want to give for the next two years of our education.
I decided to find a position in China because this country is in the center of many discussion when it is about manufacturing or economic.
I wanted to live this globalization reality from the inside.
My team was mainly in charge with the design of automatic production line.
One of the project I had to work for is the one just on the left.
This line produce some brake disks for the firm Dongfeng. The custumer ordered two of those lines and other oders were expected.
I draw the disks with SolidWorks in each states of the production in order to be able to design the grabing and carrying systems.
Then I design the dark small robot you can see bihind the robotic harm.
I had the oportunity to join a team in the huge design department of the Shenyang Machine Tool company.
SMTCL is by far the biggest machine tool manufacturer in China. The firm make the design and construction of all sizes CNC milling machines.
It also provide automatic production lines according to the needs of the custumers.
The company is expected to grow a lot as it is opening to the international market.
At the end of the semester, the company ask me to make the wire's routing reconfiguration of a double axes leth machine.
That took me a lot of time because nobody had pay attention of this aspect of the conception for that new machine.
The workers were encountering many problems during the assembly and the first machine delivered had been sended back by the angry customer...
A few days before I left the company, I had the oportunity to see a part of my work made reality.
The line I work on was assembled and the pre-shipping test were at the point to be run !
